How to bring some Christmas cheer to the office

[column_three_quarter]

You spend the majority of your day at the office with your colleagues, so why not introduce some festive fun on the run up to Christmas this year?

We love nothing more than a good mince pie and a little bit of tinsel, so we’re sharing our favourite ways to spend the last few weeks before the man in the red suit arrives.

CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY

Every year, we choose a day where everyone wears their favourite Christmas jumper to the office in exchange for a small donation to a charity.

You could make a full event of it by asking everyone to bring in some snacks to share, play some Christmas tunes all day and arrange a raffle or sweepstake to add a little more excitement to the day.

Save the Children have lots of resources, games and posters that you can download to host your own Christmas Jumper Day.

HANG SOME DECORATIONS

You don’t have to go all out with a real tree and freshly roasted chestnuts to make your office feel festive.

Why not scour the local charity shop for a donated tree and some festive decorations? You never know what you might find.

Or you could have everyone make paper chains or cut out snowflakes in a fun team-building activity!

ORGANISE A CHARITY EVENT

Christmas is a time for giving, and your team might really enjoy donating their time to help out with a local charity. Or you could arrange a sponsored event, like the Yuletide Yomp that some of the Boxed Red team did.

Ask your teams for suggestions on what they would like to do this year, and see if you can arrange an event one evening or at the weekend to really bring everyone together and give them a boost for helping others.

Don’t forget to share your photos on social media and with the local press to spread the word about your Christmas donation.

ARRANGE A SECRET SANTA

Who doesn’t love a novelty present at Christmas? We have a Secret Santa every year, where everyone chooses a name from a hat and spends up to £10 on a gift for that person.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a lot of fun with the gifts, even a few pounds can go a long way towards a few laughs in the run up to Christmas.

Use this Secret Santa generator to email everyone with their gift recipient and instructions, that way everyone gets to play!
