Boxed Red provides strategic support at kbb Birmingham

The kbb Birmingham exhibition is the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom furniture industry’s biggest event, where dealers, manufacturers and showroom owners meet and make connections that span the globe.

Our long-standing client In-House Inspired Room Design attends this event every year to make new connections with the dealer network across the UK. But this year, they wanted to make a serious impact with a creative approach that would demand attention.

CREATING A CONCEPT

At Boxed Red, we have been working with InHouse for some time on a marketing strategy that will support the wider dealer network and provide kitchen, bathroom and bedroom showroom owners with the tools they need to generate leads and increase sales.

Boxed Red Director, Craig Fell, has been working with InHouse Managing Director Wayne Dance on the strategy behind this project, so when the decision was made to take the kbb exhibition presence to the next level, Boxed Red was the obvious choice to take the lead.

IMPLEMENTING THE CREATIVE

Craig led the entire exhibition project and worked with the Boxed Red team to break away from the ‘white walls and dummy kitchens’ concept that is used so often at this type of event.

The team came up with an innovative street scene look, where walls, doors and street signage were created to invite visitors in to have a closer look.

Craig said: “This project was completely led by the concept, and the design, production and installation had to align with our vision. To make sure we achieved the ambitious look, I was located on site to liaise with all the 3rd party suppliers to ensure the build team completed the installation in line with our expectation. I managed a team of five fitters from Germany, five from the UK, an audio-visual company and the graphics installers.”

DURING THE EVENT

The kbb Birmingham show is open to delegates for four days, but Craig and some additional members of the Boxed Red team were on site before, during and after to provide even more support for the InHouse team.

Once the event was open, it was Craig’s responsibility to speak to showroom owners about the marketing support that Boxed Red and InHouse can provide.

Craig said: “There’s nothing better than face-to-face contact when you’re explaining a new concept to an audience, and speaking to the showroom owners at kbb gave me an incredible insight into the industry, and helps us become even more impactful in the support we offer as part of this package.”

“Exhibiting with InHouse at this exhibition was a fantastic experience, we received good feedback on how the stand looked, which was great after all the hard work that went into it. A lot of the dealers I spoke to felt Boxed Red and InHouse would offer exceptional support in marketing their businesses, as we have the combined knowledge to do it well.”

The kbb Birmingham exhibition has been a fantastic project for the Boxed Red team to get involved with. Our creative and strategic expertise was vital to ensure the creative exhibition concept was brought to life effectively and efficiently, and having the team on site really gave InHouse the confidence in selling their new marketing concept to dealers and showroom owners across the country.
