Google Update: Increase conversions with cross-device remarketing

cross-device remarketing

Google has rolled out an update to its remarketing capability that could increase your conversions by reaching your customers when they browse on different devices.

Cross-device remarketing is now available in Google AdWords and means your ads are served to customers when they visit your website on one device then browse or search on another.

Research from Google has shown that around six in 10 internet users start shopping on one device and make the purchase on another, and 16% of British consumers use three or more web-connected devices each day, so this update is vital to ensure your messages reach them when it matters most.

This update allows you to re-engage with a customer when previously they would have missed out on seeing your remarketing ads the minute they switch to a tablet or mobile from desktop, or vice versa.

Getting your key messages in front of your ideal customer at the precise moment they’re ready to make a purchase is a vital part of digital marketing and this update goes a long way to increasing the reach of your messages at the best possible time.

As long as your display remarketing is running across all devices, including mobile, you don’t have to take any action to activate cross-device remarketing, but it might be a good time to review your privacy policies and make updates to let your customers know what information you are collecting and sharing with Google.
