Boxed Red Managing Director makes “immensely valuable” contribution to Knutsford Academy

Boxed Red Marketing’s Managing Director, Janna Caley, has been praised for her valuable contribution as part of a professional panel at Knutsford Academy.

The ‘Dragons’ Den’ event was created to provide Year 12 students working towards the Deloitte Employability Level 2 BTEC with the opportunity to ask questions about setting up in business, the reality of life in the workplace and how they can succeed in their future careers.

The panel was made up of business owners and senior professionals, who each followed a different career path to their current roles. Students were invited to ask each member of the panel about their transition from school to university or work and what personal traits and skills they might now look for in future employees.

Kevin Hollins, Principal at Knutsford Academy, said: “We are developing a comprehensive employability programme for our students, and our success will depend entirely on the quality of our relationships with business partners. Janna’s contribution was immensely valuable for our students and I’m really grateful that she was prepared to give up her time in this way.”

Janna added: “I very much enjoyed being part of the Dragons’ Den, I have very fond memories of my time at (then) Knutsford High School, now Academy, and I know being exposed to this type of event would have been a huge assistance to me and my ambitions, so I really hope the students benefited from the exposure.”

Janna appeared alongside Phil Orford from the Forum of Private Business, Tom Drury from Arrow Global, Gerry O’Keeffe from DDC plc and Matthew Townsend from Ultimate Communications at the event on Friday 1st February 2013.
