Many businesses shy away from Instagram, worrying that they don’t have the best content, or that their customers aren’t using the platform. But there are now more than 300 million users on Instagram, which currently outnumbers Twitter’s 288 million users.
We’ve rounded up three great reasons why you should include Instagram in your social media strategy:
A survey from Iconosquare asked 16,000 people about their online habits, and a whopping 70% said they had looked for a specific brand on Instagram.
What’s more, those users said they felt ‘flattered’ when a brand liked their post. So when you’re selling to consumers, you can create a genuine connection by engaging directly with their images.
Posts on Instagram generate a higher rate of engagement than the same post on other social media platforms.
Those likes and ‘regrams’ get your message in front of an even wider audience, at absolutely no cost. What have you got to lose?
You’ll probably find images of your people and sneaky peeks at what they get up to, generate more likes and comments than images of your products.
Share a mixture of both as part of your Instagram strategy to generate as much interest as possible in your brand.
There’s no reason to shy away from using Instagram as part of your integrated marketing strategy, and social media plan.
Keep your customer at the very heart of everything you post, and ask yourself how this image and post will benefit them. Does it showcase a new product? Give a sneaky peek behind the scenes? Or simply share a beautiful photo that they’ll enjoy looking at?
